Hibernia Park

Hibernia Trail

Hibernia Park is my local stomping ground. It is about 3 miles north of Coatesville. The only place you can truely run barefoot here is around the wide open meadows in the grass. There you may only have twigs and sticks to contend with. There are a web of trails through the park and it is worth it to explore them all. Terrain surfaces include: asphalt, grass/dirt, dirt/rocks, gravel and cinder.

Minimalist shoes will handle most of these without a problem. Some trails can get challenging with good sized rocks strewn about. I used to tackle the toughest trails in my huarache Luna sandals but I definitely wouldn't recommend it to beginners as I would often step on pointy rocks. When I know I'm going to be running those trails I switch to my Mix Masters.
